Welcome to Peak Passport. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Peak Passport mobile application (the "App") and related services provided by IteraTrail ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not download or use the App.

1. Description of Service

Peak Passport is a digital hiking journal that allows users to explore a directory of mountain peaks, record hikes offline, and use GPS coordinates to verify summit visits in order to collect exclusive digital stamps and achievement badges.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

  • Guest Mode: You may use the App without creating an account. All data will be saved locally on your device's cache and may be lost if you clear your device storage or uninstall the App.
  • Cloud Accounts: If you choose to create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. GPS Summit Verification & Safety Disclaimer

  • Verification: The App uses device GPS coordinates to verify summits. Verification is subject to GPS accuracy and satellite availability.
  • Safety First: Hiking and mountaineering are inherently dangerous activities. You are solely responsible for your safety, gear, weather monitoring, and navigation.
  • Disclaimer: Under no circumstances should the App be used as a primary safety, navigation, or emergency rescue tool. We do not encourage scaling mountains in unsafe conditions or entering restricted areas to verify summits. Always follow local regulations and park warnings.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to spoof, mock, or falsify your GPS coordinates to collect stamps without visiting the summits.
  • Falsify account registration details.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the App's source code or digital stamp assets.

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its visual design, custom-designed digital stamp illustrations, mountain lists, graphics, and logos, is the exclusive intellectual property of IteraTrail and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for non-commercial purposes.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IteraTrail shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the App, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss of device data.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App following any updates indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.
