Privacy Policy
IteraTrail ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Peak Passport mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading and using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not access or use the App.
1. Information We Collect
A. Location Data
- Summit Verification: The App uses your device's GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) to verify if you are physically present at a mountain peak summit to unlock milestone digital stamps.
- Background Location: We do not collect, track, or monitor your location in the background or sell your location coordinates. GPS coordinates are only read upon your explicit request when using the summit verification feature.
B. Personal Data (Optional Cloud Accounts)
- Authentication Details: If you choose to create a cloud backup account to sync your journal entries across devices, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
- Guest Mode: You can choose to use the App completely offline in "Guest Mode" without registering an account. In this mode, all your travel journals, stamps, and photos remain strictly on your local device storage.
C. Device & Usage Information
- Local Offline Storage: Your journals, photos, and achievements are saved locally on your device using Hive database storage.
- Analytics & Diagnostics: We collect anonymous, aggregated crash reports and usage statistics (via Google Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics) to diagnose technical bugs and improve performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Verify and unlock peak summit digital stamps.
- Back up and synchronize your achievements and journals across devices (if signed in).
- Improve the usability, aesthetics, and features of the App.
- Provide support and respond to customer service requests.
3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data or location statistics to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With Firebase, Google Play Services, and AdMob for authentication, analytical reporting, and non-intrusive advertisements.
- Legal Compliance: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
4. Data Retention and Security
- Local Data Control: You can delete your local cache at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings or using the in-app reset tools.
- Security Measures: We use standard industry-accepted security practices to protect personal data stored in the cloud. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or storage technology can be guaranteed 100% secure.
